My current home doesn't have a verandah or even a porch but I dream of owning a little farmette again, with a verandah overlooking chickens, goats and gardens. Absolute heaven!

ANOTHER MELTDOWN

The Kid had another meltdown yesterday. So bad that I almost gave up, but I can't, can I? I finally got him calm, diverted his attention to a movie (hate to do that) and sat down to cry.

Laurie, the puppy's trainer, came by last night with pictures of the puppy. The one who'll be trained to be my son's service dog. He's 6 weeks, and will be ready to come home the week of July 11. Krypto is an adorable puppy (see pics). We still have to find the time and money to pick up the supplies, like a crate, bedding, food/water dishes, training treats, etc. A "Service Dog in Training" vest is already being made for him; he'll wear it whenever he's "working".

Today has been better for my son, so far. He's very loving, cuddly, and wants to stay near me. He usually only gets that way after he's had a seizure. Wonder if he had one during the night?

He's also hard at work today. Moving all of his MANY MANY books from his basement bedroom to his upstairs bedroom. We need to clear out the downstairs because we're thinking about renting out that part of the house. We need the money to make ends meet. So he came up and stood, studying the front room, wondering where he was going to fit all of his books. Wanted to stack the bookcases all the way to the ceiling. I explained that with a puppy in the house, we may all end up crushed! He thought about it and agreed. Then suggested it again 20 minutes later.

Sweet boy.

Sending some e-mails and other contacts to find recipes for my Getting Healthy cookbook (our fundraiser). Hope they come through. Need 200-300 recipes, as soon as possible (July 29). Also looking for someone with art skills to help with the cookbook cover et al. Meanwhile, today's task list includes:
-working on the cookbook
-sending e-mails
-working on son's schoolwork curriculum
-exercising
-livestock care (collect eggs, milk the goat, etc)
-clean the kitchen

Aw. So sweet. My Kid just brought me a bowl of canned pineapple. I thanked him but I'll save it for Hubby. Pineapple burns my mouth.

Have a great day, all!

I'd send in recipes, but I don't ever measure anything when I cook, and most people need amounts. I tend to just toss stuff all together and call it good. Which it normally is.

Hello, I was told by "My life with flyball dogs" that you are looking for an artist and I see that you are. Well, I'm a young artist whom specializes in watercolor paintings, colored pencil and graphite drawings. If you'd like some help illustrating or designing, just let me know, I'm sure we can work something out. :-)

Koira: Send them anyway! If the foods are healthy, people can figure them out. I don't usually measure either, so it's quite a project putting a "real" recipe together.

Elizabeth: I'm looking for a cartoonized version of Krypto (see the pic) and my son, perhaps the dog in an apron serving my son a healthy dish. What can you come up with? E-mail me.

Vee,

I usually do realistic drawings, but I'm interested in helping you and your son to get the adorable puppy, Krypto. I'll work on some sketches when I have some time, because I work today, but within this week I think I'll have something doable. I can't find your email, you can email me at Horsefeather22@aol.com.

Have a great rest of your day!
