Thought I'd post this again, with a bit more info.
As you know, I'm collecting recipes for a "getting healthy" cookbook (proceeds to help defray the Service Dog costs: buying the puppy, training, certification and supplies). Since I'm working to get healthy (down from 299 pounds to 253), thought I'd concentrate on healthy recipes, but I really don't have a lot. That's where YOU come in. Please e-mail your 5 (10? 20? :) ) of your favorite recipes to: vikkibooks At yAhoo DOT com
Include your name (or nickname) and location. I'll assume since you've e-mailed your recipes, you give me permission to print them. I'll compile the recipes, print them in a comb-bound-type booklet, and sell at garage sales or flea market or online or wherever I can. Will also try to compile in a .pdf file and submit to amazon.com or otherwise sell online.
In exchange for your help and recipes, you can have a FREE "business card size" advertisement in it for your blog, home business, etc. Resolution should be 300 dpi, 3.75x2.25 (1125x675 pixels) inches. E-version will have text in place of the graphic.
Sections in the "GETTING HEALTHY" cookbook:
-crockpot dishes
-pantry put-togethers (using stored foods)
-gluten-free
-sugar-free
-corn-free
-raw
-low-carb
-side dishes and salads
-entrees
-desserts
-beverages
... ... ... and so forth. Open to suggestions!
Perhaps a section of tips and tricks for dieting and getting healthy? Maybe a section for enticing children to eat healthy?
GOAL: 200-300 recipes
DEADLINE: July 29 2011
Also ... if there's anyone reading this with art talent, please e-mail if you can help me come up with a wonderful cover, and divider pages for the cookbook.
THANK YOU!!

Other news:
One of my egger crosses who hatched Feb 5, laid her first little egg yesterday. Absolutely adorable. SO proud of her. Now ... I should start getting even more eggs. We might have them coming out of our ears in another month or two! Good thing my son at least likes our hen's eggs. Getting protein into him is tricky; he likes: eggs, bacon, almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, cheese and our goat's milk.
Thunderstorm on it's way. HOPE it actually drops a little rain around here. Barely gotten any lately, even tho they blow all around us. Frustrating! My garden desparately needs it. NOPE... THE RAIN HAS BEGUN AND IS PELTING MY GARDEN. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR. Oh shoot, I think I left my car window down.
Did I mention that we finally finished sowing the little cornfield? Not very big but hoping it'll give us enough corn to dry to feed the critters treats during the coming winter.
Oh, and about the service dog. The trainer who found the puppy will be here this afternoon after she visits and photographs the puppy. Krypto will be his name. Bringing the pix, the intention to make the dog more real to my kid. And to meet us. Gonna invite her to dinner IF the kitchen can get cleaned enough. Kid is having lots of meltdowns this week so I'm not getting much done. Mitigating suicide thoughts, running away, and out-and-out tantrums.
I'm so very very tired.
But ... Have a great day!
