We've made arrangements (I hope!) to trade some quail eggs and seedlings for an Easter Egger hen who's laying. Off to pick her up shortly, and meet our new friends. I like meeting like-minded people, don't you? We connected through Craigslist. Yippee!
Got a LOT done yesterday. In addition to getting a 9-week old kitten (yes, we'll have neutered), we marked off the goat and chicken pens, placed pallets and fencing and posts where we need them, cleaned up the "extras" area, put the scavenged wheelbarrows in the workshop, got the chicken coop ready for the laying hen (it's inside the workshop/barn), found someone to help build the pens and raised bed frames, and then died from exhaustion!
Today, after picking up the hen and getting her settled in her little indoor coop, we'll attach the trailer to the car and get our coop/pen supplies for the construction on Monday. Fun fun!

How exciting!!
We can't belive how big our chicks are getting so fast... they are still in the brooder, but only because the coop isn't quite built yet (and we had snow yesterday, in Southern Ontario).
My poor husband is afraid that he'll go to check on them, and find one roosting in the rafters!!
