My current home doesn't have a verandah or even a porch but I dream of owning a little farmette again, with a verandah overlooking chickens, goats and gardens. Absolute heaven!

Busy Sunday and weather

Met the like-minded family yesterday, walked the property, met the chickens and pigs, petted a horse, saw the wind turbine set-up, and brought the hen home. Talked about farmer's markets and seedlings. Love those kinds of conversations!

Picked up a chicken feeder and waterer on the way home, then, after Hubby finished attaching the door to the chicken coop, he reached in and pulled her out, and placed her in the coop. It's situated in the workshop/barn because we don't have the exterior one done yet. Hope she settles in. Doesn't seem to like us.

By the time we finished with that, it was time to change our clothes and get into town to take Hubby's mom to Linner (lunch-dinner). Pleasant conversation! Hit Home Depot on the way home because the coops and pens are supposed to be constructed today (wait for it... !) but the one we stopped out with the trailer didn't have the gates or plywood we needed ... neighborhood too upper-scale! Got what we could, and popped into a book store on our way back home but the book store didn't have what we wanted either.

Get home, unhook the trailer, do evening chores (everybody gets food and water!), played with the chicks for a while, and passed out from exhaustion.

Well, not quite. Heard a little thing on the 10 p.m. news that disturbs me. We expect snow Tuesday evening/Wednesday. SNOW! 1-2 feet! Yep, you read right. So much for getting some plants in the ground. Or building the coops and pens.

So the coops and pens that are "supposed to be" constructed today may not be. The temp is dipping and rain is on it's way. Followed by the snow tomorrow and Wed. Geez.
