I got a lot done yesterday before another headache and wave of nausea hit.
-installed shelving in two bathrooms
-installed 3 towell bars in two bathrooms
-found a comforter in a box that matches green room
-found a sham in a dif box that matches comforter for the green room
-wrote the honey-do list (for all of us tho!)
-cleaned out the fridge and organized
-checked on seedlings - almost all greens have sprouted!
-found box of my clothes and hung up
Then the headache hit (by around 3 p.m.) so laid down to take a nap until Hubby came home. After dinner, we did some painting and fixing the kitchen plumbing.
Today I need to order the lilacs, lavender and windbreak plants.
Join me in my personal journey to change the ME that I am...to be the best ME that I can become.
My current home doesn't have a verandah or even a porch but I dream of owning a little farmette again, with a verandah overlooking chickens, goats and gardens. Absolute heaven!

Kid Fun and Decorating
We finally met our next door neighbors last weekend (mom, dad, boy 12, girl 15). The boy and my Kid got along great. Then yesterday, the Kid saw a boy behind our house and ran down to make friends with him (boy 12, girl 16, girl 5). At both of these neighbor's houses, they have video games and such things like that. Enticing to my 13 yo boy, because we don't have them and don't intend to get them. Sure we have a cheap WII knock-off, but that's all we intend to get.
So my dilemma is... what do we do with our downstairs family room to get these neighborhood boys to play, er, hang here? Animals? Nope, just about everyone in this neighborhood has goats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, etc. WII? Nope, already said we aren't upgrading. Ping ping? Yeah, right. Not in this day and age. Same goes for board games and puzzles. Dart board? Possibly but how much time will tweens/teens spend at that.
Half of the family room space is dedicated to the TV, futon, exercycle and Hubby's Total Gym. That leaves a space of about 6' x 16' to do what with? Unless we put the futon against the wall and the workout equipment in another room, then it's about 15' x 16'.
What are teen's into these days? I mean, my Kid likes movie-making, girls, writing stories and reading. That isn't much help. I know.
Help!
We adults may want to use whatever we put there too. Yeah, still doesn't help, does it?
How about this... we're really into music. We have a keyboard, mini drum set, guitar, karoake machine, etc. What if we set up that stuff against the walls, toss around some big pillows to lay on (or some bean-bag chairs), a short table for drinks, and maybe an inexpensive cd player? Maybe get a couple of short bookshelves to hold cds and such? Aren't teens into music? Would this work?
