My current home doesn't have a verandah or even a porch but I dream of owning a little farmette again, with a verandah overlooking chickens, goats and gardens. Absolute heaven!

Pictures of house we want

I took these pictures when we first walked through the house on December 17 2009. Actually, so far, that's been the only time. We walked in and immediately knew we wanted the house. This is the house we made the offer on, and that we haven't yet heard back, although it's been about 3 weeks.

I'm hoping if I post these pictures, maybe the good thoughts of all of my readers will help us get the house! Well... can't hurt!

The first pic shows the front of the house. Note the weird placement of the door. Odd, isn't it? We're planning on moving the door where that small circle window is so that the door will face the front, which is west, which means the Colorado Rocky Mountains! And we'll include a nice verandah there, while we're at it. The man in the center is our agent, and the finger pointing is Hubby, showing the long driveway, where we plan to plant our fruit and nut trees.

This second picture shows the HUGE workshop on the property. It really is quite large, and has electricity already going to it. It would be perfect to use to dry crops like corn or oats, and for Hubby to do some of his carpentry projects. And we're hoping he and the Kid can do some of his science experiments there as I do NOT want them in the house!

That pile of gravel and rocks is between the workshop and the house. We're thinking we can move the pile if it's still there after the current owners move out, and build the barn there. Plenty large enough, leaving room to get to the propane tank, and separating the front from the backyard. We'll want the buck (boy) goat to have a little personal yard in the front because the girl goats (does) will have access to the entire backyard and pastures.

And here's a pic of the odd dining room. The only fireplace in the house! But that's ok. I'm going to teach myself how to cook on it. And when we have a cold snap, we'll move the dining table and chairs against the left wall and snuggle up with pillows and quilts in front of the fire. (The furniture there is all the current owners. The Kid, of course, is mine!)

So.... send your good thoughts our way! We really love this house. It comes with 2 acres, which is a little less than what we want, but we'll do just fine. Maybe a neighbor will let us grow corn or pumpkins in their unused backyard!

Definitely sending positive thoughts and prayers for your efforts. It looks like a really neat house! Good luck!!! Hopefully the holidays just caused a slight delay and you'll hear back soon that they are gonna take your offer! :-)
