Vikki's Verandah: Silkie Chicken Wanted, and video of me singing

For those of you near where I live (near Denver) ... we're looking for a broody hen to sit on and hatch our quail and chicken eggs.

Silkie chickens are bantams (small chickens), who don't lay many eggs themselves. That's ok with us. But .. since they are known for being great mothers and hatchers, that's what we're looking for. Need a silkie hen, broodiness preferred, color doesn't matter.

The below is a video I shot last week of me singing to my 3-week-old easter egger chick ... hoped to encourage her to grow! Yes, I know I forgot some of the words, and my pitch is off but still.... it's the intent, right?

West River Academy

Sometimes we need a little help graduating our children, ESPECIALLY if they have special needs. My son tried regular school, but even in the Special Ed program, he was just given busy work. When he started having seizures in class, the other students in his special ed classes got scared; they politely asked us to leave. I could have fought it, but we were preparing for his brain surgery, and afterwards, he had very little short term memory as well as partial blindness and a long road to recovery. So... he enrolled in West River Academy which is a private 'umbrella' school, fully accredited (www.westriveracademy.com). He earned his high school diploma just before his 18th birthday!! Wonderful people there.
