Oddball is one of the chicks we got from Cackle Hatchery. My Kid named him/her. OB has a crossed beak. No clue how it eats or drinks, but seems to be growing like the rest of them. Can you see the crossed beak in the pic? Don't worry ... we don't plan to ever sell her. Him. Er, it! Having troubles with blogger's formatting so bear with me! Could someone please tell me why all of a sudden Blogger's formatting doesn't work? Not even with HTML codes?!?!?!?

I have a two year old hen with a crossed beak. She needs deep dishes of food, as she can't pick up seeds, etc. as the other hens do. Every once in a while I trim back the dead ends of her beak, and that seems to help. She also gets soft food treats once in a while.
Thanks for the comment. I do have fairly deep buckets in the adult pens so she'll be ok once she gets there. I also do plenty of treats (spinach, special pancakes, berries, apples and more. She'll have a home with us as long as she wants!
